My Second Endorsement

My second endorsement comes from David Bowman, he of Bunny Modern. David writes very quirky and excitable and fun fiction, so it was a privilege to get an endorsement.

The comparisons to David Foster Wallace, Thomas Pynchon, and William Gaddis were rather humorous, thanks David!

Vegan Flatulence

Andrea and I have decided to become vegans. It's giving me gas.

My First Endorsement

Mark Dunn wrote the first endorsement for WLP. I enjoyed Ella Minnow Pea immensely, so it feels good to have an endorsement from someone whose work you respect. Mark truly loves language, and so his writing gives you that feeling you get when you're around someone who really loves what they're doing--you feel sort of sunny and optimistic.

Going Walden

I'm leaving tomorrow to spend a week at the Oregon Writer's Colony in Rockaway Beach. The place is a log cabin right on the water: it should be very spectacular and solitary, since the Oregon Coast in December is cold as hell and riddled with gale-force winds.

Hedging

Finished yet another draft of WLP yesterday. My ploy to tighten without doing any plot or character removal seemed to have worked pretty well. It's amazing what a little snip here and there can accomplish.

Today was my deadline for getting it back to my editor, so I sent it back without reading it through. I'm sure I'll see it again.
