Did I Mention That I Got an Office?
I have an office! Back in January, during the 30 days straight of rain here in Portland, my basement writing space with zero natural light was making me feel very isolated, so I took the drastic measure of renting out an office space in the ActivSpace building downtown. The logic was that being downtown in a building with lots of artist types would give me an opportunity to make some connections.
Well, I've been here a month now and haven't ventured outside my door. Still, the natural light rocks...

You never did mention that you got an office... What about the house?
I'm jealous of the office. Big time. If you're still in need of writing inspiration I found the following helped. This is also me plugging my blog:
premeditated
You know, I think this article might be more inspirational.
After the First Draft
And did you know about this?
Writer's Resource
Mike,
The After the First Draft article was very good. It's always cool to see someone else articulate how their drafting process went. I particularly liked the line "This was especially the case with Company, which I initially had trouble finding my way into, then was visited with a succession of great new ideas that required rewriting major sections."
That's exactly what happened with VMP, only I hadn't articulated it that way yet. It's easy, of course, in retrospect to define what happened while you were writing a novel, but when you're in the middle of it, dealing with the minutiae of a days worth of work, all you can see is muddle.
Writers Resource is also a good link. Thanks.
