Big in Japan
A magazine from Japan contacted me yesterday saying they wanted to do a story about me, my book and my blog. What was strange about this request, was that they didn't want to interview me, they just wanted a hi-resolution picture.
If this had been an American magazine, I would have been highly suspicious of such a request, especially if it was a magazine I had never heard of. But because it was Japanese, I immediately shipped off a photo. You see, I don't care what they say about me, I'm just excited that someone is going to write something about me in those cool Japanese characters...

I wonder whether they'll send you a copy?
They said they would.
In further news, it turns out that Henshu Kaigi is a fairly significant Japanese trade magazine for media, journalism, broadcasting and publishing. They're featuring U.S. bloggers. So be careful, Mr. Rochester, soon I'll be giving your very popular blog a run for the money.
That's pretty nifty -- do you have any idea what drew them to you as a person of interest? Did they see your sticker cover debacle?
Highly-traffic-laden though you may become, I bet you'll never have as many swooning ladies. :-)
Oh, I forgot to add, at the end of that last comment:
Neener.
It was the sticker cover largely. They were drawn to the blog entry where I talked about the differences between my cover design experience and my MySpace design experience.
You can keep your swooning ladies, David. I've already got all I can handle at home ;)
